“I’m Going To Destroy Shaffiq”, Vows Dube

09 November, 2019

Bulawayo born boxer Thamusanqa Dube has promised to take down his opponent Shaffiq Kiwanuka of Uganda on the 29th of November 2019 on Shaffiq’s home turf. Speaking at a press conference held on the 6th of November on behalf of True Ndachi Boxing Academy, Marketing and Public Rlations Officer, Jermaine Chapfiwa emphasised the need for Dube to go and train in South Africa where he can get competition. “The need to train in South Africa arises from the lack of heavyweights of prowess and weight class in Zimbabwe”, he said.

Mr Chapfiwa further emphasised how they would beat anyone who wishes to challenge the True Ndachi Stable of fighters. “We will break you, smash you, scar you, torment you, and ultimately win all scorecards IF we do not knock you out within the first rounds. Dube has had 15 fights under him and has won 12 of them having started off his career in 2001.

Mr Gabriel Moyo, the Academy promoter and manager thanked Pro-Active fitness gym in Bulawayo for partnering with them ahead of this tournament. True Ndachi, however, is not yet over the finishing line as to date they are still shy of US$ 1500.00 to facilitate the travel and training of Dube in South Africa and eventually his week in Uganda.

True Ndachi already boasts of recent successes as at the end of October, their boxer Noel Mpofu won against Collen Mavhundutse in the heavyweight division with ruthless efficiency. The Boxing Academy is a fully registered institution and this bout has endorsed by the Zimbabwe National Boxing Control Board, giving it a national voice which requires the support of all Zimbabweans.

The Great Strikers promoted bout will be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala Uganda.
